Taxaccord was born out of a multi-year, multi-release project to build one of the most comprehensive and successful Value Added Tax automation systems in Europe for the regional subsidiary of a major international corporation.   It was found that a single tax solution of this quality could be implemented globally, thereby removing the need to maintain a complex, single-theatre tax engine and allowing it to focus on its real core competencies.

The tax professionals and consultants from the original project were then the same people who subsequently replaced elements of the custom tax solution with an automated tax solution, thereby bringing two worlds of tax experience together. It was a learning experience for both parties. The key people from this project team realised that they had much to offer and formed the company Taxaccord.

Taxaccord has recently opened an office in San Francisco and one in Atlanta in order to better serve US based clients in automating their worldwide transaction tax solutions.
